Grace is currently a proud member of these following organizations:
National Association of Music Education: An organization of American music educators. Their mission is to “advance music education by promoting the understanding and making of music by all” – (NAfME).
American Choral Directors Association: An organization of American choral musicians. Their mission is to “inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music for everyone through education, performance, composition and advocacy” – (ACDA).
New Jersey Music Educators Association: An organization of music educators from New Jersey. Their mission is to “advance music instruction in New Jersey’s educational institutions at all levels that provide in-service and enrichment opportunities for practicing” – (NJMEA).
Sigma Alpha Iota: Professional Music Fraternity: An International women’s music fraternity. Their mission is to “encourage, nurture and support the art of music” – (Sigma Alpha Iota).
2019 Kemp Church Music Symposium
Grace attended the 2019 Kemp Church Music Symposium at Westminster Choir College on October 5, 2019. Dr. Anton Armstrong and Dr. André Thomas were the guest clinicians who gave very informative sessions on pastoral music educators, approaching rehearsal techniques, guiding singers through development, understanding how to perform spirituals, and providing repertoire for church musicians.
2019 Westminster Conservatory: Youth Chorale Fall Sing
Grace participated in Westminster Conservatory’s Youth Chorale Fall Sing on October 12, 2019. This choir consisted of current Westminster students and high school students from surrounding areas. They performed Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem and other modern choral works. This choir was led under the direction of Jason Vodicka.
